A day late to start, but this post will be my daily log. I was trying to decide if I just log my push-ups and squats, or if I include any other workout I did as well. To keep myself accountable, I am just going to post it all.
12/17/2018
30 push-ups, 30 squats. Run intervals for 25 min. Foam rolling and stretching 30 min. I guess I am way more out of shape than I thought because the 30 reps each was about all I had energy for. The run felt good, despite my back being a little aggravated the last few days. To try and make my back feel better, I did a really awesome and horrible foam rolling session. It always hurts so good.
12/18/2018
20 push-ups, 20 squats. Foam rolling and stretching 30 min. Back extra sore from work today. Arms a lot more tired than expected too. Hoping for improvement tomorrow.
12/19/2018
40 push-ups, 40 squats. That’s it. Back is still bugging me a lot. Can’t wait for the week to be over so I can find some time to get to the pool.
12/20/2018
40 push-ups, 40 squats. Wanted to do more but back is killing me.
12/21/2018
40 push-ups, 40 squats. Did not have time for anything else.
12/22/2018
30 push-ups, 30 squats. P90X Cold Start for warm-up, then shot for 45 minutes on the trainer, but only got 39 minutes. My back was still bugging me a bit, so it was probably smart to stop. I had intended to go swimming today, but got caught up some other things. I’ll definitely go tomorrow though. In addition, I am getting 50 push-ups and squats tomorrow!
12/23/2018
20 push-ups, 20 squats. Swam for 30 minutes. I wasn’t expecting my shoulders to be so sore. I did some stretching before swimming, but that did not help much. I did sets of 100 yards in the pool. Shoulders were so dead afterwards I didn’t do anymore push-ups. Legs were also a little sore and cramping from the swim, so I opted not to do any additional squats either.
12/24/2018
No push-ups or squats. Really sore today. I was able to get 30 minutes in the pool though, which felt pretty good. I still had very sore shoulders and some leg cramping afterwards.
12/25/2018
No push-ups or squats. I did hop on my trainer for 30 minutes. It was a busy day and I didn’t set aside enough time for anything else. My back was bothering me a little bit after the trainer ride since I did not really warm-up.
12/26/2018
20 push-ups, 20 squats. P90X3 Cold Start, followed by 30 minutes on the trainer. Even though my back was super tight today, I made sure to do my X3 warm-up, which helped a ton. This allowed me to get in my trainer ride and get some push-ups and squats in. I am going to be trying to get myself to do Cold Start everyday, preferably twice a day if I have the time. It really loosens me up and I feel so much better afterwards.
12/27/2018
20 push-ups, 20 squats. P90X3 Cold Start, followed by a 46 minutes on the trainer. Again, my back a bit sore, but that was from a lot of non-workout activities. Ride felt good, and as always, Cold Start was awesome.
12/28/2018
No push-ups or squats. I woke up and my back was really hurting. In addition, my back was sore most of the day. However, I did get in P90X3 Cold Start and just over 30 minutes on the trainer. Although my back felt fine while doing my warm-up and ride, it was back to being sore a little later.
12/29/2018
10 push-ups, 10 squats. Really struggling with remembering to get these in when I am home. I’ll keep trying. I got in a 36 minutes trainer ride though, which felt good.
12/30/2018
10 push-ups, 10 squats. Extremely busy with cooking, baking and cleaning; no excuse, I know, but that’s what happened.
12/31/2018
No push-ups or squats. Same issue as yesterday. However, I did get in 30 minutes on the trainer.
1/1/2019
20 push-ups, 20 squats. No going to lie, was not really in the condition to do any workouts today. Last night was fun but rough.
1/2/2019
40 push-ups, 40 squats. I am back at work and for some odd reason I find it easier to get these in when at work. I need to keep that same consistency when I am home, and I will definitely hit my goals. I also got in a 2 mile walk at lunch.
1/3/2019
30 push-ups, 30 squats. Pretty busy day, plus feeling a little under the weather. I didn’t get any other workouts in.
1/4/2019
No push-ups or squats; I just wasn’t thinking about them and didn’t do any. I did manage to get in a 30 minute trainer ride though.
1/5/2019
30 push-ups, 30 squats. I did some walking and stairs, but no formal workout today.
1/6/2019
50 push-ups, 50 squats. Pretty happy with getting in 50 each today and it felt pretty good. I just need more discipline to get in more, as 50 seems to be the max I can get in on any given day with my schedule. That’s not to say there isn’t time, I just need to be more diligent with reminders. In addition I did P90X3 Cold Start and rode on my trainer for 45 minutes.
1/7/2019
50 push-ups, 50 squats. Another day of 50s! Very busy day though, and didn’t get in any other workouts.
1/8/2019
No push-ups or squats. I was not around all day so I didn’t have time to get in any sort of workout.
1/9/2019
50 push-ups, 50 squats. Still not a lot of time today, so I didn’t get in any other workouts, but at least I hit the 50 mark again.
1/10/2019
30 push-ups, 30 squats. I wanted to get in more but got busy. I was able to get in a little over 30 minutes on the trainer though, which felt great!
1/11/2019
40 push-ups, 40 squats. Almost hit an hour on the trainer, but my legs got really tired and my calf started feeling like it was going to cramp, so I stopped at 53 minutes.
1/12/2019
No push-ups or squats. Not feeling well, so I took the day off.
1/13/2019
20 push-ups, 20 squats. Also got in P90X3 cold start and a 33 minute run (3.13 miles). This is my first time back running pretty much since my Ironman. It’s a amazing how much conditioning one can lose so quickly. I struggled with my 5k. However, I got a new treadmill and it felt amazing! In addition, despite my legs being super tired after, I felt pretty good and had no issues with house cleaning afterwards. Now to get ready for Hot Chocolate 15k training this upcoming week.
1/14/2019
No push-ups or squats. Feeling under the weather. I didn’t get any workouts in today, just sleep, which felt great.
1/15/2019
50 push-ups, 50 squats. Final day of my challenge. Also got in my first run for my Hot Chocolate 15k training, as well as P90X3 Cold Start. Overall felt pretty good.
